The working principle of hydraulic jacks and hydraulic systems is very simple, the kinetic energy is transferred into mechanical energy through the medium hydraulic oil. But their components are quite complex, so do you know what parts they are made of? Now, TorcStark will give a detailed introduction.

The composition of hydraulic jack

Hydraulic jack is mainly composed of cylinder barrel, piston rod, piston, cylinder head, cylinder tail, seals, accessories and so on. Among them, the cylinder, piston rod and piston are called the three major parts of the oil cylinder.

The machining accuracy of hydraulic jacks depends on the level of equipment, production technology and testing methods. The piston rod of hydraulic jacks must be quenched, tempered and straightened before machining. The thickness of the coating on the piston rod is generally not less than 0.03mm.

The machining of the piston must be produced in strict accordance with the groove dimension tolerance given in the seal manual.

In order to reduce costs, many manufacturers now do not quench and temper the piston rod, the rod coating is not enough, and the smoothness of the cylinder barrel cannot be achieved. The guide sleeve should be made of copper instead of ductile iron. Although the cost is reduced, the quality of the hydraulic cylinder is not satisfactory. TorcStark produces pistons in strict accordance with product quality standards and provides our users with a one-year warranty maintenance service.

Before using the hydraulic jack, it is necessary to check whether all parts are normal. When using it, it should strictly abide by the regulations in the main parameters, and avoid super high overload. Otherwise, when the lifting height or lifting tonnage exceeds the regulations, serious oil leakage will occur at the top of the cylinder. If the amount of oil in the manual pump body is insufficient, it is necessary to add fully filtered hydraulic oil to the hydraulic jack before it can work.

The center of gravity of the heavy object should be moderately selected, the focus point of the hydraulic jack should be selected reasonably, the bottom surface should be leveled, and the soft and hard conditions of the ground should be considered, whether it should be lined with tough wood, and whether the placement should be stable, so as to avoid the load sinking or tilting.

After the hydraulic jack lifts the heavy object, the support should be used to support the heavy object in time. It is forbidden to use the jack as support.

If you need to support heavy objects for a long time, please choose CLL self-locking hydraulic jack. When several hydraulic jacks are required to be lifted at the same time, in addition to the correct placement of the jacks, a multi-top diverter valve should be used, and a load of each jack should be balanced, and attention should be paid to keep the lifting speed synchronized. It is also necessary to consider the situation that the ground may sink due to uneven weight, so as to prevent the danger of tilting the weight being lifted.

When using the hydraulic jack, first connect the quick connector of the manual pump to the jack, then select the position, and tighten the oil drain screw on the oil pump to work.

If the piston rod is lowered, loosen the handwheel of the manual oil pump counterclockwise slightly, the cylinder is unloaded, and the piston rod is gradually lowered. Otherwise, it will be dangerous to descend too fast.

The working principle of hydraulic jacks is almost all similar. By manually pressurizing the stalk, the hydraulic oil enters the hydraulic jack through a single valve. At this time, the hydraulic oil entering the hydraulic jack can no longer be reversed due to the single valve, forcing the cylinder rod upward. Then the work continues to make the hydraulic oil continue to enter the hydraulic cylinder, and the cylinder rod continues to rise. If you want to retract the cylinder rod, open the hydraulic valve to return the hydraulic oil to the tank. This is the simplest working principle, and the others are improved on this basis.

The structure of all hydraulic jacks is similar, mainly composed of the following parts: cylinder barrel and cylinder head, piston and piston rod, sealing device, buffer device, exhaust device, etc.

The composition of the hydraulic system

The hydraulic jack is a typical hydraulic transmission system. It consists of a lever, a pump body, and a small piston to form a manual plunger pump. It is the power element of the hydraulic jack. The large piston and the cylinder block form the hydraulic cylinder, which is the actuator of the hydraulic jack. Check valves and globe valves are the control elements of hydraulic jacks. Oil pipes and oil tanks are auxiliary components of hydraulic jacks. The working medium of the hydraulic jack is hydraulic oil.

The hydraulic transmission system is generally composed of five parts.

1. Power components

Refers to various hydraulic pumps. Its function is to convert the mechanical energy of the prime mover (motor or engine) into the pressure energy of hydraulic oil, which is the power source of the hydraulic system.

2. Actuator

Refers to various hydraulic cylinders or hydraulic motors. Its function is to convert the pressure energy of hydraulic oil into mechanical energy to realize reciprocating linear motion, swing or continuous rotation.

3. Control components

Refers to various types of control valves. Its function is to change the pressure, flow and flow direction of the hydraulic transmission system, thereby controlling the power, speed and direction of the actuator.

4. Auxiliary components

Refers to fuel tanks, fuel pipes, pipe joints, fuel filters, seals, etc. Its function is to store, transport, purify and seal hydraulic oil, etc., and has a heat dissipation effect.

5. Working medium

Refers to various hydraulic oils. Its function is to transmit energy in the hydraulic transmission system. Hydraulic oil not only transmits energy efficiently but also functions as lubrication and heat dissipation. The selection of suitable hydraulic oil is the premise to ensure the normal operation of the hydraulic system. Hydraulic oil is the largest and most widely used variety of industrial lubricating oils. In any hydraulic system, hydraulic oil is a vital component.
